A virtual platform developed by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and presented to the public in spring of 2020, LMTA TV is a window on the cultural life and a convenient contemporary way to watch and take part in the scientific activities and artistic processes of the Academy in real time. Live broadcasts, as well as interesting archival materials, are being added to the platform on a consistent basis, with its relevancy being proven by the ever-growing virtual audiences that actively follow the live events on LMTA TV and browse the media library for content.
Around 500 scientific events and artistic projects are being produced by the Academy – be it during the studies, financed by various foundations or initiated by the Art Centre. All of them represent the LMTA community and determine the future forms and topics in culture and arts. Hopefully, LMTA TV will also become a sort of a mirror for this community and astonish it with the abundance of unique documented and digitalized material.
The program of live broadcasts and the media library on LMTA TV includes classical, contemporary, electronic and jazz music concerts, theatre, dance, opera and interdisciplinary arts performances, documentary, feature films, short films and video clips, as well as conferences on contemporary academic, artistic and philosophical issues, scientific reports, discussions, lectures and ceremonies that take place in the Academy.
The idea to create the new platform for digital content came about while taking into consideration the entire field of culture makers and consumers: be it the creative and scientific initiatives that have not been sufficiently accessible to wider audiences before, or the public, lacking quality access to the relevant cultural content. So please join us!
